Educational Grant

British Association of Day Surgery (BADS)

Educational Grants 2020

'A multidisciplinary opportunity'

*Opening soon*

What is it?

Up to two financial awards made to an individual or team to aid a research project or to help fund travel costs as part of a study or practice development. In all cases, the project must be aimed at improving day surgery, either within the UK or abroad. A precondition of the educational grant is that those who receive it will attend the next BADS Day Surgery Conference and present the outcomes of their project so that their experience can be shared.

Who can apply?

Applications are open ONLY to BADS members (an application received from a non-member will not be considered). The award is open to any member of the multidisciplinary team or a whole team who wish to be considered for financial assistance. One award will be made available to doctors and one award will be made available to nursing staff and allied health professionals.

How do I apply?

By submitting a proposal for the work you intend to undertake. This should be presented using the guidelines indicated on the application form. The proposal should include ethical committee approval where this is appropriate and a breakdown of expected costs and the total sum applied for (up to a maximum of £1000 but each award to be decided upon by BADS council).

Further details will be available on this page shortly.

Deadline for submissions: 17th April 2020

How will I be judged?

Members of the BADS Council will judge any proposal submitted on the basis of a pre decided set of criteria (to be supplied). The Council reserves the right not to award a grant.
